Produced by Hal Roach in the USA in 1934, this is a Laurel & Hardy comedy feature, but with a difference - it's more of a pantomine and light operetta, with various toyland story characters interwoven. Laurel & Hardy work for Father Christmas making toy soldiers, but naturally there are complications. With supporting shorts, presented on 16mm by Grahame Newnham.

It features Arthur Riscoe and Naughton Wayne with Diane Napier and Pearl Osgood. A selection of shorts will also be included. Presented by Anthony Saffrey on 16mm.

Originally released as a silent (USA 1922), it was reissued later with sound and commentary which is what we will see tonight. Pathéscope released various extracts on 9.5mm. Supporting masterial will also be included. Screened for us by Grahame Newnham on 16mm.

- March 17th - One of the most popular novelists of the 20th century was William Somerset Maughan (1874 - 1965), many of his stories came to the big screen.
